SUSTAINABILITY practices

We aim to keep MDI as beautiful as it was 200 years ago, and with that in mind we purchase as many locally produced goods as we can.

For seafood, we purchase a majority of our fish and shellfish from Maine fisherman. For instance, you will notice there are no large shrimp, just Maine caught “popcorn” Shrimp. 

LOBSTERS are all from the gulf of maine. 

LOCAL FARMS are a favorite source for mixed greens, spinach, carrots, cucumbers, and other produce.

We use only All Natural/Ethically Raised chicken, eggs and beef. “All Natural” means no steroids or Hormones.

We have eradicated the use of Polystyrene Foam, started recycling programs, installed efficient lighting and cut down on water usage.
